About     Journal     Adam’s July look - Shades of grey

Charcoal Flannel Suit, White Shirt & Light Grey Woolen tie

“For me, a charcoal flannel suit is a winter staple and something every man should have in his wardrobe. The warmth it provides is beautiful for a cold Melbourne winter and the texture of the fabric itself is really interesting. What I really like about this fabric is its ability to be worn in multiple settings. Whether it's as a suit in the office with a shirt and tie (as worn here), dressed down as a sports jacket with some navy or lighter grey trousers for a smart casual look, or even worn with jeans and a scarf on the weekend - it really can do it all.

“As a fitter, I really enjoy playing with different tones within the same colour palette. I find that grey tones, when worn together, look really elegant and professional. I like to look at this suit as a blank canvas when creating an outfit, giving me endless opportunities to match shirt and tie colours. For this look, I’ve decided on a white shirt with a lighter grey, woolen tie. I really like how the texture of the tie complements the suit and adds a little bit of difference to an otherwise classic look.
