Young Henrys was founded by Oscar McMahon and Richard Adamson with a clear purpose: ‘serve the people’. And since 2012, that’s exactly what they’ve been doing, brewing beer with an equal emphasis on balance, quality and value.
With proud Newtown roots, the brand was originally launched as a means of contributing to the cultures and subcultures that Richard and Oscar both felt part of. And while the brand has maintained its identity as a local - beer is still brewed in the original Newtown space - it’s also grown into something of a national sensation.
Fast forward to today and you’ll be hard pressed to find a pub or bottle shop that doesn’t stock one of Young Henrys signature ales. But don’t let the scale fool you. Young Henrys remains just as committed to craftsmanship as it was on day 1.
As Oscar McMahon reflected ‘we are a nearly 11 year old company that still makes beer the same way we did when we started. We have increased our efficiency, our sustainability practices and our quality, but it is still just a bunch of passionate people making things for other people.’
