Beyond Tailoring: Oscar Hunt’s Expanding Universe of Style

Since our inception, Oscar Hunt has been squarely focused on excelling in one realm: made-to-measure tailoring. While we’ve always dabbled in the accessories to go alongside it, we’ve never really strayed too far from the path.

That is, until now.

Slowly but surely, Oscar Hunt is delighted to be expanding into the world of ready-to-wear. You might have already seen bits and pieces: from our recently relaunched footwear range, to our limited selection of bomber jackets to our transeasonal knits… we’ve definitely been dipping our toe in here and there.

But we’re about to truly take off with the introduction of Oscar Hunt denim. Here, we give you the rundown on everything you need to know on this newest member of the family.

The range

Never ones to shy away from a challenge, we’re launching with a classic 5 pocket jean available in three washes: dark rinse, mid rinse and bleach. Catering to all ends of the sartorial spectrum, our jeans will have a full leg and gentle taper to the ankle, with a mid to high-rise making for a classic fit and comfortable feel. Speaking of classic, they also feature a button fly and signature Jacron back patch stamped with the logo of yours truly.

In terms of the manufacturing process, the garments will be crafted in Portugal from Italian Candiani 100% rigid denim fabric, going through three washes to ensure a comfortable first wear (and an even comfier fiftieth). Choosing Candiani was not only a style choice - they are also known as the ‘greenest mill in the blue world’ and align with our sustainability values.

The Oscar Hunt denim styling guide

As great (and long time) lovers of denim, the team has also curated their top picks for how best to style this new range.

Starting with the more casual end of the spectrum, we love to pair a paler wash with a brown blazer - preferably in a looser weave fabric (think linen during Summer or tweed during the cooler months). We recommend pairing this with either an Oxford shirt of a plain tee and loafers for the consummate weekend ensemble.

For more formal occasions, we suggest starting with the dark rinse, pairing it with a contrasting jacket - think pale blue or beige - and a crisp button down in white. To level up the look, consider the addition of a pocket square or even a knitted tie for added panache.

Where to find the new range

For those looking to discover the new denim range, we’ll have limited supply available in all our showrooms from January 16th. To avoid disappointment, give us a bell before popping by to ensure we’ve got a few pairs on hand for you to try on.
