While Oscar Hunt’s heartland may be made-to-measure suits, over the past couple of years we’ve also been building our muscle in ready-to-wear for men. During this time, we’ve scoured the globe, sourcing from the best quality suppliers that we could find. The result? A curated selection of knits, denim, jackets and accessories that can seamlessly take you from the desk to drinks and back again.
This week, we’re diving into our ready-to-wear collection with a particular focus on how to layer some of these signature pieces.
Ready to wear denim
Despite our tailoring origins, the team at Oscar Hunt are great lovers of denim. Whether worn casually with a plain white tee-shirt or dressed up with a button down shirt and a blazer, they are one of those wardrobe staples that we find ourselves reaching for time and time again.
Crafted from 12.5oz selvedge denim sourced from the legendary Italian mill, Candiani, our jeans are designed to mold to your body over time and adapt to whatever your preferred style might be. Our go-to combination is a pair of the mid-wash jeans, a pair of our Baudoin & Lange loafers, finished off with an Oxford shirt for an elevated yet casual look.
Knits & Jackets
No piece on layering would be complete without a reference to knits and jackets and while we’re approaching the end of Winter, our collection is designed to be highly trans-seasonal. Take the blouson for example - made from a luxurious Italian suede - this is a piece you could sling over your shoulders with a polo and chinos during Spring or something that you could layer with one of our knits during the cooler months.
Accessories
Starting with accessories for suits, we have an extensive collection of cufflinks, ties, bow-ties and pocket squares that help add a finishing touch to a variety of different suiting looks. The benefit of stocking these in our showrooms is that you can easily look at a variety of options during a final suit fitting that will complete the full outfit.
In a similar vein, this can also give you a better sense of what a made-to-measure outfit might look like when it all comes together, right at the start of the process.
